DriveHER began with a father, a few practical car lessons, and a question: what if more girls had the chance to learn this too?
WHERE IT STARTED
Every journey begins with someone handing you the keys.
Growing up in Brampton, DriveHER founder Heshika learned basic car maintenance and automotive knowledge from her dad. Those early lessons made clear how empowering practical vehicle skills can be—and how few girls are given the same opportunity to learn them.
Brampton is home to one of Canada's strongest automotive communities. It is a city built around cars, so it felt like the right place to start a project that makes automotive education more welcoming, accessible, and empowering.
Heshika teamed up with her friend Pahal and an incredible group of passionate students to create DriveHER: a student-led community project where girls can build confidence around vehicles while exploring the many careers that shape the automotive industry.
